Year 3 – Curriculum Notes and Homework.

Friday 14th September 2018

Dear Parents and carers,

Thank you for another fabulous week and it was so lovely to see so many of you at the Parent Workshop on Thursday.

Next week we will be continuing to learn about Ancient Egypt and the children will be making their own 3D pyramid and writing some facts about pyramids on the outside.  We will continue to learn about light and this week we will be doing some investigations using mirrors.

In Literacy we will read some more of the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe as part of our big read session and we will be writing some descriptive sentences based on this.  We will also be looking at improving basic sentences by adding adjectives.

In Maths 3E will be looking at 10 or 100 more or less and comparing numbers and 3KS will be looking at comparing numbers.

Homework this week is to complete the word search, learn spellings and your child needs to explain to you why some plurals end in ‘ies’, some in ‘es’ and some in just ‘s’. Remember homework is to be handed in by Wednesday.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to another positive week next week.

Mrs Elvins and Miss Sanders.
