Year 3 – Curriculum Notes and Homework 26.11.2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for another lovely week in Year 3.

Just a reminder that indoor PE is now on a Monday and outdoor PE will remain on a Tuesday.  Please make sure your child has both PE kits at school at all times.

Wednesday is non-school uniform day with a Christmas theme (EG: Christmas jumper or festive hat) in exchange for a teddy or a bottle for our Christmas Fayre on Friday.

This week, in Literacy, we will be using inverted commas (speech marks) when writing direct speech and exploring synonyms for said.

In Maths, 3E will be looking at multiplication. They will be exploring multiples of 3, 4 and 8.  They will be continuing sequences of multiples and looking at the inverse relationship between multiplication and division (EG: 3 x 4 = 12 and 12 ÷ 3 = 4).  3KS will be looking at counting in steps and comparing numbers; with a focus on number and place value and interpreting data.

Spelling homework focusing on silent letters was set on Friday and is due on Wednesday. Please make sure your child learns their spellings for the week which are the ‘n’ sound spelt ‘kn’ or ‘gn’ such as knock or gnome.

Can you make sure that your child is writing their daily reading into their diary please, thank you.

Thank you again for your continued support.
