The Christmas Carol Service will be on Wednesday 19th December at All Saints Church at 2pm. The church has requested that if possible cars are left at home due to limited parking spaces. The infants will walk to the church after lunch and we will meet you there. If you are able to help with walking to the church please let your class teacher know by Monday.
Costumes for Year 1 : To support our song Jingle Bell Rock could we ask that all children come dressed in party/ rock clothes ready for the performance on the 19th. Children should have sensible footwear as we will be walking to the church.
Church Songs – Here are the links for our service songs. If you could practise them as often as possible at home we would be most grateful.

Drayton Manor: As you know we will all be going on our first school trip of the year to Drayton Manor Zoo. We will be leaving school at around 9:15am and should be back by the end of the school day. Children need to wear school uniform, have a warm coat and a small rucksack with a filled water bottle that can be securely closed. We have ordered packed lunches for all children and these will be given to children on Tuesday morning before we go on the trip.
Maths: We have spent all week partitioning teen numbers. We have been reinforcing tens and ones. If you have any free time feel free to consolidate this at home.
Literacy: In Literacy we have been reading the story Dogger. We have been sequencing narratives and practising our capital letters and full stops.
Creative Curriculum: In the creative curriculum we have been learning lots of interesting facts about kangaroos and marsupials. We have also been locating the continent of Oceania.
Maths: In maths this week we will be doubling and halving numbers.
Literacy: In literacy we will be writing about our school trip.
Creative Curriculum: Most of our time next week will be spent singing songs and practising our church performance.
Weekly homework: Daily record of reading – your record is vital to our monitoring of the children’s development. Reading daily at this age is critical and we monitor this every week so we can track the children’s progress against how much they read out of school. We really do appreciate your input.

1000 Mathletics points – PLEASE PRACTISE LOGGING ON WITH YOUR CHILD AT HOME. We would like them to be able to log on themselves on an iPad and a computer. We are unable to all use Matheltics in the suite together until the children can achieve this – may be we can aim for this for January!
If possible, please practise some of the phonics at the back of the diaries too. Don’t forget to practise your keywords as often as possible too! These words are the foundation or building blocks of all the reading books we send home and a re really important.
To teach/revise aw, au and or
Working with your child at home is so important and we thank you for your support in this.
PLEASE ENSURE HALL HATS/COATS/GLOVES are named. There are 90 children in each corridor – that’s a lot of winter wear to match to children every playtime.
Have a great weekend.
