Please practise these with your child. We are trying to really practise phonics skills and spellings as this is something we are finding tricky as a year group.

Reading comprehension- Children have a comprehension on Roald Dahl which needs to be completed by next Friday.

In addition please continue to read any Bug club books online (these have been updated) and any books towards the reading challenge. You will notice the children are starting to challenge themselves with more challenging texts now, we are encouraging this but they may need some support at home discussing new vocabulary that they have come across. Asking comprehension questions where they have to use their detective skills and read between the lines in a text is also very important.

Maths- New activities have been added on to Mathletics.

Next week we will be looking at some grammar skills, including identifying nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs.

Mrs Glover’s maths group- Will be looking at graphs, positional language and different language for addition and subtraction.

Mrs Westlake’s maths group- Will be looking a measurement.
