Curriculum Notes – Week Beginning 11.3.19
The spellings set on Friday 8th were words with –ey and ei making the ‘long a sound’.
The homework task set on Friday 8th to be handed in by 13.3.19 was a maths task. Mrs Elvins set some multiplication calculations to be solved using the grid multiplication strategy and Miss Sanders set a fraction task.
This Half Term we will be having rugby on a Friday afternoon. The children are likely to get muddy! Please could they have a named plastic bag in school for their trainers so their pump bags don’t get too muddy! Many thanks if you have already sent one into school.
In Literacy this week, we will be looking at the fable ‘The Boy who Cried Wolf’. We will be answering some comprehension questions and re-telling the story.
In Maths, Mrs Elvins will be spending a lesson solving number problems where the children will need to use inverse operations to help solve the problem. We will then be starting a series of lessons on statistics.
Miss Sanders will be continuing to focus on fractions.
We are also looking forward to visiting the Lapworth Museum of Geology this week where our activities will include a treasure hunt around the museum and a teaching session on volcanoes and earthquakes.
