Week Beginning 8th April

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED OUR SEWING DAY LAST WEEK. WE COULDN’T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU!THE CHILDREN WERE EVEN BETTER THAN WE HAD ORIGINALLY PLANNED – THEY HAVE MADE US ALL VERY PROUD. MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM HOW FANTASTIC THEY ARE!

Last week:

In literacy last week we completed a  phonics assessment and completed a comprehension. The majority of any other time was spent sewing or practising for our assembly. In maths we began to look at halving and also came up with a costing plan for our teddies.

A REMINDER

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PURCHASE TEDDIES DIRECTLY AFTER OUR CLASS ASSEMBLY ON WEDNESDAY BEFORE  LUNCH.

THERE WILL BE A BREAKDOWN OF THE COSTS IN THE FORM OF A POSTER MADE BY THE CHILDREN. WE ARE ASKING FOR A DONATION OF YOUR CHOICE SO THAT WE WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE A SMALL  PROFIT.

ALL CHILDREN WILL BE PROVIDED WITH AN ENVELOPE NEXT TO THEIR TEDDIES FOR DONATIONS TO BE PLACED. YOU CAN GIVE AS MUCH OR AS LITTLE AS YOU WISH. COST PRICE WAS £3.30 PER TEDDY.

Our Next Learning:

We will use our experience of making teddies to write a set of instructions. This will then be used for assessment. There will also be a spelling test early this week.

On Monday all costumes need to be in school as we are having a full dress rehearsal in the afternoon. Costumes will then stay in school ready for Wednesday’s performance.

On Wednesday it is our class assembly, Enterprise Sale and parent lunches. See the note above about children purchasing their soft toys.

Thursday is our last day and we will be celebrating St George’s Day, and also sharing some Viking artefacts in preparation for the summer term.

Friday is a training day in school  so enjoy the early start to the Easter Break.

We wish you a fabulous break and thank you for all your support this term, it’s been another busy one!
